Afstand/Distancia

Why distance? Because for a long time I have lived 2600 km from home, from my family, from my usual friends. Because along with that physical distance, there is a cultural distance in the way of life, in the light, the music, the sounds, the colors. And although that distance is always present, I don't let it control my life, what I do or who I do it with. That's what all forms of communication and transportation are for. And I use them. Even as inspiration.

It is a collection of monotypes-drawings on paper inspired by distance. They talk about us, the “superheroes” of communication who use means of transportation, the Internet, videos, apps or whatever to stay in touch and avoid isolation or loneliness. They are all made with acrylic paint and pencil on paper.
